A Murmurer or a Complainer Never Be!

For some time, I keep hearing the following statement in my spirit – “A murmurer or a complainer never be!”  I took it to heart. I should not murmur or complain. That is where it stopped. I never really tried to apply it, until…

At Cornerstone Bible Ministries we have been studying the book of Ephesians and when we got to chapter six I began to see what the Lord was saying to me. Let’s read

Ephesians 6:5-9 The Passion Translation 5“Those that are employed should listen to their employers and obey their instructions with great respect and honor. Serve them with humility in your hearts as though you were working for the Master. 6 Always do what is right and not only when others are watching, so that you may please Christ as His servants by doing His will. 7 Serve your employers wholeheartedly and with love, as thought you were severing Christ and not men. 8 Be assured that anything you do that is beautiful and excellent will be repaired by you Lord, whether you are an employee or an employer.

My murmuring and complaining is not beautiful and excellent in the Eyes of our Lord. It was dishonoring to my employer, but also to my Savior.

Didn’t the Israelites have issues with this? Did it not cause more problems for them?

Our Father doesn’t like it, not one bit. It serves no kingdom purpose. It does serve the enemy though by doing the following:

  1. Weakens, and or destroys your witness. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit and we should be walking in His joy no matter what is happening in our lives.
  2. Brings about division and strife. How does the enemy bring about a church split? One way is through murmurers and complainers.
  3. It will hinder and stop your spiritual growth. Instead of complaining about the job situation – pray about it. Pray for bosses and coworkers, or over any situation that you find yourself complaining about.

I recall several years ago that my wife and I got into a huge argument. I don’t recall what it was about, but I do recall the conversation that Father and I had. I stormed up into the attic telling Him that He needed to change my wife. He literally sat me down and said; “No, it is you that needs to change.” So, I will apply that to now. There is nothing that I can do to change the situation at work, or in any other area of my life. All I can do is pray and serve my boss, or anyone else as if I am serving my Lord.

Galatians 6:7-8 tells us: “Make no mistake about it, God will never be mocked! For what you plant will always be what you harvest. The harvest you reap reveals the seed that was planted…”

You want peace and joy in your life and workplace then you must sow peace and joy. It is up to you!

Blessings to All
